Why We Rally on AUGUST 30: The fight for LGBTQ+ rights are not happening somewhere else, it is here, in our schools, in our public spaces, and in our local policies. The proposed “opt-out” policy in Howell Mountain is just one example of the creeping efforts to censor and erase LGBTQ+ stories. We know that when one community’s rights are targeted, it sets a precedent that threatens all of us.
